The cherry blossoms are well past their prime now and not looking nearly as fresh and full as they were in full bloom. But it's still easy to find plenty of flowers out on individual trees. If you're in the area and want to catch them, you won't want to wait too much longer.
Saturday's wild weather did have quite an impact, and after seeing the howling winds that went late into the night, it's easy to understand why. Many trees have lost many or most of their flowers. But some of the trees that bloomed a little later have held up remarkably well, considering. Head to the stretch between the MLK Memorial and the Japanese Lantern for a number of trees that are still going quite strong.
Elsewhere, many of the trees are starting to leaf out. Warm temperatures over the next few days will speed that along. There might also be some thunderstorms later in the week.

How It Looks at the Tidal Basin This Morning
It's a lovely spring morning. Clear and cool and calm. And it's also very quiet.
Here are some shots taken this morning to give a sense of what you can expect to see if you head down to the Tidal Basin today.
The Kwanzan (or Kanzan) cherry blossoms are just starting to bloom. For now, there's only a very small number of scattered flowers open, but warm temperatures over the next few days will bring many more out.

Things Worth Knowing
Ohio Drive is back to normal. It has all the normal entrances and traffic flow.
They're in the process of packing up the Welcome Area near the MLK Memorial, but West Basin Drive is still closed. The MLK Memorial and FDR Memorial remain open as usual to pedestrian traffic.
The Paddle Boat parking lot is still closed and scheduled to remain closed until April 5.
The Floral Library (near the paddle boat parking lot) is looking beautiful with many tulips out.
