There’s still plenty to see at the Tidal Basin this morning. Yesterday’s rain and wind did take a toll, but the trees are holding up quite well so far.
From a distance, they still look wonderful. It’s only when you get a very close that you can see that they’re definitely on their way out now. Most of the petals that were blanketing the ground after the rain yesterday have scattered in the wind, so the evidence isn’t quite so obvious. There are more green leaves appearing now, but they’re still overwhelmed by the pink flowers.
If you head down to today, you won’t be disappointed. There’s still a lingering breeze this morning that should die out later. And the sun is out, with a beautifully clear sky. Parking is relatively easy, and while there are more people out today than yesterday morning, it’s still not crowded by any stretch.
